IPL 2022: Harshal Patel Provides Major Injury Update After RCB Qualify For Playoffs

Star Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) pacer Harshal Patel has given a major update on his return from injury after Faf du Plessis-led side booked a spot in IPL 2022 playoffs.
Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) on Saturday to knock them out of IPL 2022 playoffs race and help Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) secure a playoff spot in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022.

Now, Royal Challengers Bangalore +(RCB) will lock horns with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the Eliminator of the IPL 2022 on May 25 at the Eden Garden in Kolkata.
Also, in Qualifier 1, Hardik Pandya’s Gujarat Titans (GT) will take on Sanju Samson’s Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on May 24.

Notably, Harshal Patel had split his webbing on the right hand during the clash against Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Wankhede Stadium on May 19 and he was unable to complete his overs. However, RCB won that match comfortably with the help of Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell’s innings.
While talking about the injury he suffered, Harshal Patel indicated that he would be fit and available to take part in Eliminator of the Indian Premier League 2022.
“When I caught that ball on short extra cover, I split my webbing on the right hand. I got a couple of stitches which should come off in three to four days… I think I will be ready to be a part of it (Eliminator).”
Notably, Harshal Patel has been one of the key reasons behind RCB’s success in IPL 2021 and IPL 2022. In IPL 2022 Harshal Patel bagged 32 wickets in just 15 games at an average of 14.34 economy of 8.14 and strike rate of 10.56.
Also, Harshal Patel won the Gamechanger of the season, Most Valuable Player of the season and Purple Cap award after his sensational run in IPL 2021.
Meanwhile, in the Indian Premier League 2022, he has already picked 18 wickets in 13 games at an average of 19.77, an economy of 7.68 and a strike rate of 15.44.
