Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated new entrants Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the Eliminator of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 at the Eden Gardens on Wednesday, with Rajat Patidar smashing a record-breaking century and Harshal Patel delivering the goods with the ball.

The famous Indian opener, Virender Sehwag tweeted a special post for match-winner Patidar after the Indian middle-order powered Bangalore to the Qualifier 2 of the IPL 2022 after RCB’s spectacular triumph over KL Rahul-led team.

Following Bangalore’s 14-run triumph over Rahul-led LSG at the Eden Gardens, Sehwag praised another RCB player.

Former Indian captain Virender Sehwag praised pacer Patel’s bowling efforts in the high-scoring match between Bangalore and Lucknow. Patel, who was the IPL’s highest wicket-taker in the previous season, defended 24 runs in the final over to give Bangalore a dramatic playoff victory over Lucknow.

He Is Getting The Wickets And Saving Matches: Virender Sehwag On Harshal Patel

Patel, according to Sehwag, belongs in the INR 14-15 crore category. At the mega auction, the Virat Kohli-starrer team re-signed the RCB bowler for INR 10.75.

“We always talk about how (Rahul) Tewatia does justice to his INR 10 crore tag because he won matches for his side (Gujarat Titans). Harshal’s price tag is still quite low, the way he has bowled for Bangalore. He has saved matches for the side, so I think even the INR 10.75 price tag is less for him. He should be in the INR 14-15 crore category,” Sehwag told Cricbuzz.

“He’s bowling in slog overs, he is getting the wickets and saving matches. Sometimes, he even sets the tone for the game when he bowls the initial overs, conceding fewer runs and taking wickets. So, I think he also deserves to be in that bracket of category. Now, they have qualified for Qualifier 2, and maybe RCB can give him a bonus,” Sehwag added.

In a high-scoring game between Lucknow and Bangalore, Patel struck out power hitter Marcus Stoinis and allowed only 25 runs.
