After being diagnosed with typhoid, Prithvi Shaw hasn’t played for the Delhi Capitals since May 1. Rishabh Pant stated that the chances of him returning to the team for the IPL 2022 playoffs are 50-50.
Delhi is currently one win away from qualifying for the playoffs after their win against Punjab Kings.
The Delhi Capitals haven’t appeared as efficient as they normally do without Prithvi Shaw in the batting order. After the team scraped by against Punjab Kings courtesy to their bowler’s department’s performance, speculation about Shaw’s comeback for the playoffs resurfaced.
After the hitters could only muster 159 runs, Delhi’s bowling team had to raise their efforts. Rishabh Pan said the possibilities of Shaw returning to the squad for the playoffs are 50-50.
“I believe he is split 50/50. We’ll find out in a few days “Rishabh Pant informed Star Sports about it.
Since the encounter against the Lucknow Super Giants on May 1, Shaw is now out of play. He’s currently fighting typhoid, but there is no word on whether or not he’ll be able to play this year.
‘Throughout the tournament, we have only lost one game and won one.‘: Rishabh Pant
The victory propelled Delhi to fourth place in the standings. With only one game remaining, the team is on the verge of qualifying for the knockouts. They must, however, win their final league match of the season.
“Throughout the tournament, we have only lost one game and won one. It was something that we intended to alter as a group, and we were successful. It was a refreshing change of pace from Livingstone, but it’s all part of the game. It’s impossible to be too harsh on Warney (Warner) when he’s been outstanding throughout the competition “ Rishabh Pant Said.
On May 21, the Delhi Capitals will play the Mumbai Indians, who are currently in last place in the league.
