Virat Kohli, India’s poster boy, is going through a difficult period in his career that he has likely never experienced before. Kohli has barely managed to score runs for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League 2022 after over 100 innings without a century.

Kohli knows how to mute the ‘outside noise’ as critics continue to criticise his form.

Virat Kohli Has Scored Three Ducks In This Season, The Most By Him In Any Season

Kohli has only 216 runs in 12 innings for Royal Challengers Bangalore. During the IPL 2022 season, he only managed to score 50 runs once. Kohli has racked up three ducks so far this season, two of which have been golden ducks. Kohli remarked in a video posted on YouTube by RCB that he realised what it meant to be helpless after the second duck.

“After the second duck, I realized what it feels like to be helpless. It has never happened to me in my career. That’s why I was smiling because it has been so long and I have seen everything this game has to show” Kohli said on RCB Insider.

Kohli’s barren run has been questioned by fans, journalists, pundits, past cricketers, and virtually everyone in the Indian cricketing community. Though others, including former India coach Ravi Shastri, believe Kohli should take a break from cricket, the batter retorted by claiming they don’t understand what he does.

“They can’t be in my shoes. They can’t feel what I feel. They can’t live my life. They can’t live those moments. So you say how do you cut out the noise? You either mute the TV or don’t pay attention to what people are saying. I do both of these things,” he further said.

Kohli was also questioned if he misses AB de Villiers in the franchise’s dressing room in the video. Kohli said that he speaks with the South African frequently. While ABD isn’t in the RCB dugout this season, Virat hopes to have him back next season ‘in some form.’ Kohli may not be in top form this season, but the Royal Challengers Bangalore are on track to make the playoffs.

RCB are currently ranked 4th in the points table with 7 victories in 12 games. To finish the league stage among the top four teams, they must win at least one of their remaining two games.
