Umran has won the award for fastest delivery of match 13 consecutive times in the IPL 2022 and he is expected to bag his 14th award when SRH play their last league stage game of the cash-rich league.

He bowled the fastest delivery of the Indian Premier League 2022 in the match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals at the Brabourne Stadium, on May 5 as the 22-year-old clocked 157 kmph.

Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar still holds the record for the fastest delivery in international cricket as he clocked 161.3 kmph.

“The way Umran is bowling in the IPL, I think he will break Akhtar’s fastest delivery’s record very soon. Umran is an amazing talent. He is performing well in the IPL and it’s a great sign for Indian cricket that these kinds of talents are coming and doing well,” Rasool said.

Rasool further said that the Jammu and Kashmir pacer Umran is the future of Indian cricket.

“I think he played very few games of junior cricket in Under-17 or Under-19. After that, he played Ranji. He has so much talent that everybody is talking about him. In the IPL he is doing well and I think he is the future for Indian cricket,” Rasool added.

Sunrisers Hyderabad express pacer Umran is the 4th highest wicket-taker in the IPL 2022 with 21 wickets under his belt in 13 outings. Also, he is the youngest Indian bowler to pick up 20 or more wickets in an IPL season.
