IPL 2022: Kagiso Rabada Is Down To Earth, Humble, Welcoming, And Approachable; Learnt A Lot From Him – Arshdeep Singh

Punjab Kings (PBKS) left-arm medium-pacer Arshdeep Singh, while talking about his PBKS teammate and star South African pacer, Kagiso Rabada, said that the Proteas speedster is very “down to earth, humble, welcoming, and approachable”.

Pacer Arshdeep Singh bagged just 10 wickets in the IPL 2022 at an economy of 7.70 but the numbers don’t depict his real potential. The pacer has got the ability to bowl deadly yorkers in the death overs and his consistent performance in the IPL has helped him get his India call-up for the five-match T20I series against South Africa, which will begin on June 9.

In an interview with TimesofIndia.com, he was asked what was it like to share the ball with pacer Kagiso Rabada to which Arshdeep replied by saying that he felt great sharing the ball and dressing room with Rabada. He added that he had learned a lot of things from “humble guy” Kagiso Rabada.

“Kagiso is a kind and humble guy. One can approach him and talk to him at any point of time. He is so welcoming. He loves to solve problems. Despite having a lot of international experience and playing for IPL franchises, he is down to earth, humble, welcoming, and approachable.

“I have learnt a lot from him. It feels great to share the ball and dressing room with him. Rabada and I revisit team bowling plans. We are on the same page during a match. We discuss the plans of setting a field and bowling specific deliveries to a batsman. We discuss the pitch also ahead of a match,” Arshdeep said.

The young PBKS pacer further said that the star South African pacer also discussed his international experience with him.

“I have asked him about frame of mind. I asked him how to plan when a match is slipping away from the team’s hands. He discussed his international experience with me. I got to learn a number of things from him,” the left-arm pacer added.

Arshdeep added that Rabada told him that consistency is very crucial at the international level and his focus is on improving his consistency and becoming an all-situation and all-format bowler.

“He told me consistency plays a key role at the international level. I want to work on that. I want to be consistent with my performances. I want to be an all-situation and all-format bowler for my team. Whenever I step on to the field, I want to give more than 100 percent,” he said.
