If his team breaches the time limit once again, the Karnataka batter will have to sit out of the next game. Along with Rahul, the other playing members in the game against MI were also fined INR 6 lakhs.
Speaking at the post-match presentation ceremony, Rahul also acknowledged the same. “Will have to make up for all the over rates and fines I’m getting (with his Player of the Match awards),” he said.
The 29-year-old Karnataka batter smashed his 2nd century of the season, both against MI, to help LSG defeat MI by 36 runs. The win took them to fourth place on the points table.
“Fingers crossed I can keep doing the right things” – KL Rahul
Rahul was happy with his knock against Mumbai, against whom he has now scored 206 runs in the last 2 games without being dismissed. The LSG skipper is second on the Orange Cap list, only behind the rampaging Jos Buttler.
“Trying to play according to the situation, see what’s expected out of me. Enjoying batting, enjoying the responsibility. Fingers crossed I can keep doing the right things. First thought was just get bat on ball, feel good, get that single.”
“When you’ve played in a venue that’s been good to me previously, but not so much in the last two games, just wanted to get that single first. Lucky that I could score as much as I did. I try and assess the pitch and conditions and see what’s best I could do for the team,” Rahul added.
