IPL 2022: KL Rahul Has Matured Way Beyond His Age: Kevin Pietersen

Former England Men’s Cricket Team captain, Kevin Pietersen reckons that Indian batter KL Rahul has matured beyond his age. He said that Rahul is a dynamic player who has done well in the IPL for quite a while.

KL Rahul is amongst the top run-scorers this season despite bagging two golden ducks.

KL Rahul wasn’t considered a T20 batter when he burst onto the scene something which his India teammate Virat Kohli also revealed in a podcast recently.

Rahul’s change in fortune in the format came in when he joined the Royal Challengers Bangalore started playing with the likes of Virat Kohli, Ab de Villiers and Chris Gayle.

Since then he hasn’t looked back and has been amongst the top run-getters in every season of the IPL.

He was the top run-scorer for Punjab Kings when he was with them for 4 years and now he’s also the leading run-scorer for Lucknow Super Giants, one of the new franchises that he is leading this year.

Kevin Pietersen is very impressed with Rahul, as he said on Star Sports, “He is a dynamic player, and that’s going to bear the fruit of his success for many years. To continue scoring runs at the different franchises is a damn hard thing to do because there is so much pressure with the kind of money that is spent on the player.

“But the kind of technique which KL possesses, you have got a mindset as good as his and you are calm as he is you are bound to do well. You can hear the calmness when he talks to us. He’s matured way beyond his age.”

LSG have been doing decently in the league so far and they would like to continue the same kind of momentum when they face the Mumbai Indians, a side who hasn’t gotten a single win the season so far.
