IPL 2022: KL Rahul Is The Most Valuable Indian Batter Right Now: Irfan Pathan
Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan thinks that Lucknow Super Giants captain KL Rahul is the most valuable batter in India right now because he can play at various positions without any hiccups.
KL Rahul like in previous years has continued to amass runs in the ongoing season of the IPL. He has scored more than 450 runs in 10 matches with 2 centuries till now. His strike rate this season has been around 146 which is far better than the last two seasons where his SR was low.
KL Rahul Is A Street Smart Batsman: Irfan Pathan
Irfan Pathan on Cricket Live said that Rahul is a street smart cricketer. “He is capable of batting at any position, he has done that in India colours and one can do that with such ease only if he’s talented. He is one of the most valuable Indian batters because he has the ability to play in different modes”, Pathan said on Star Sports.
Suresh Raina, a former Chennai Super Kings batter also echoed the same views about Rahul and further added: “KL is in the best mindset right now, he’s batting with a very positive mindset. He is playing some amazing shots which proves that he is in the best phase of his career. He is trying a few new things as well this season.
“He plays with the mind of the bowlers and traps them. He forces the bowlers to bowl in the areas which are his strong zones and constructs his innings accordingly. It is really commendable to see him bat like this.”
One of India’s best fielders and the first one to win the U 19 World Cup for India as captain, Mohammad Kaif said that KL Rahul has got all the shots in his books but he curbs his instincts, in the beginning, to play impactful and long innings for his team.
LSG management would hope that Rahul can continue this run of form as the tournament enters its business end.
