IPL 2022: Moeen Ali Granted Visa To Fly To India, Will Join CSK Playing XI From The 2nd Match

Star England National Cricket Team all-rounder Moeen Ali, who is part of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), has been granted a visa to fly to India.

Star England batting all-rounder Moeen Ali performed incredibly well for the MS Dhoni-led side in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 and played a crucial role in the team’s triumph in the tournament. As a result, he was retained by the franchise ahead of the Indian Premier League 2022 mega auction for INR 8 crore. Along with Moeen, the Chennai Super Kings franchise retained Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni and the IPL 2021 highest run-getter Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Meanwhile, the CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan on Saturday told that Moeen Ali had applied for a visa on February 28 and there was a big delay in him receiving travel papers, which led to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) helping the franchise to get Moeen as soon as possible.

Moeen Ali To Join CSK Playing XI From The 2nd Match

Defending champions Chennai Super Kings will start their title defence against the Shreyas Iyer-led Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on March 26 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Although the England all-rounder has received a visa he will not be available for the encounter against the Shreyas Iyer-led Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) because it has been made mandatory for the players to undergo three-day quarantine before joining the team.

The MS Dhoni and co. will play their second game against the KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants on March 31 at the Brabourne Stadium and Moeen Ali will be available for selection from the second game.

Moeen has so far played 34 Indian Premier League games and he has managed to score 666 runs at an average of 23.0 and strike rate of 146.4. Also, he has managed to bag 16 wickets with his spin bowling in the cash-rich league.
