Former Indian pace bowler RP Singh said Mohammed Siraj needs to motivate himself to rebuild his confidence in IPL 2022. The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) pacer has picked six wickets in eight matches in IPL 2022 so far at an economy rate of 9.73.
Siraj yielded more than 50 runs in the matches against Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings. His best figures 2/31 in the tournament came against Delhi Capitals. On Saturday, when RCB were bowled out for a paltry score of 68, their second-lowest total in IPL. Siraj and other team bowlers couldn’t do anything special as they didn’t have much to defend.

There’s certainly a difference in Mohammed Siraj’s bowling: RP Singh
While analysing Siraj’s bowling, RP Singh observed that the bowler recently missed certain areas that helped him produce the required results. The former Indian pacer asked Siraj to motivate himself and perform at the top level.
“See, there’s certainly a difference in his bowling. If you look at Siraj in the earlier seasons, he used to hit the deck with seam, extracting a good bounce from the surface. Now, you don’t see him bowling with the seam,” RP Singh said on Cricbuzz.

“Earlier, he used to use cross-seam as a part of variation but now he is using it more often, which shows that you aren’t confident enough. It is important for Siraj to motivate himself. It is often said that the management and captain need to motivate players, but in reality, you will have to motivate yourself,” he added.

RP Singh also suggested the 28-year-old should revise his bowling plans without stressing about too many variations.
“He needs to go back to his basics. Don’t focus on too many variations, ensure a good follow-through. Just do that for one game. Once he finds his rhythm, the rest will take care of itself,” he said.
RCB lost to SRH by nine wickets on Saturday as the Orange Army chase the score with 72 balls to spare.
