IPL 2022: "MS Dhoni Is A One-Man Army," Saba Karim Says Of The CSK Skipper

It’s tough to say whether IPL 2022 will be MS Dhoni’s final appearance in Chennai Super Kings (CSK) jerseys, according to Saba Karim.

Last year, Dhoni captained CSK to their fourth IPL championship. While there have been many opinions about whether he should continue to play in the IPL, the stalwart captain has stated that he’d have to perform his final match at the franchise’s home stadium.

Saba Karim was questioned if the possibility of Dhoni playing his final IPL game will provide further inspiration for the CSK captain. He replied, ”

“It is preferable not to mention MS Dhoni. It’s tough to predict when he’ll play, how many matches he’ll play, or how many more years he’ll play because he’s a one-man army player.”

While praising Dhoni’s contribution to CSK, the former India wicketkeeper said that the 40-year-ability old’s to participate in the IPL will be contingent on several variables. Karim went on to explain:

“CSK is certain that Dhoni would not only captain the team successfully but that he will also contribute uniquely: he can identify and develop new players. That is why I believe we will have to wait at least this season. It will be determined by CSK’s performance and Dhoni’s fitness and performance.”

He isn’t the same finisher anymore, says Reetinder Sodhi:

In the IPL 2022, Reetinder Sodhi wants Dhoni to bat somewhat higher in the order. He reasoned as follows:

“MS Dhoni will have to bat higher in the order since he is not anymore the same finisher he was several years ago. He may strike the lusty blows later if he takes his time and comes in the 10th or 11th over. MS Dhoni is well aware that he is the key to CSK’s success.”

The Chennai Super Kings will open their IPL 2022 campaign in the first game of the season against the Kolkata Knight Riders on March 26.
