The Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) has requested that a promotional advertisement starring former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni be removed from the Indian Premier League (IPL).
After a road safety organization filed a complaint alleging that the promo glorified traffic violations, the council suggested this.

Consumer Unity and Trust Society (CUTS) filed a complaint against the promotional advertisement, which depicts Dhoni as a bus driver who stops the bus in the middle of a crowded road.
When a traffic cop arrives on the scene and queries Dhoni about his behavior, he responds that they are watching the ‘Super Over’ of an IPL match. The traffic cop dismisses it as a routine incident during the IPL and drives away.
Dhoni Promoting IPL Advertisement will be withdrawn:
The issue was taken into consideration by the ASCI, a non-profit industry organization. Following that, members of the council’s Consumer Complaints Committee (CCC) saw the advertising with a representative from the firm that produced it.
The ASCI discovered a violation of its code and ordered the ad agency to either change it or remove it entirely by April 20.
It has been accepted in writing by the corporation that it will be withdrawn.
Fans were left wondering about MS Dhoni’s future after he stepped down as captain of Chennai Super Kings, but based on his performance so far in the ongoing IPL 2022 season, it’s clear to conclude that the 2011 World Cup-winning skipper is far from finished and still has a lot to offer the organization.
Dhoni struck an unbeaten 50 against the Kolkata Knight Riders in the first match, and then a quickfire 16 not out against the Lucknow Super Giants in the second.
