Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) pace sensational Umran Malik said his aim is to represent the Indian national team someday. Umran, who started as a net bowler for SRH, has been in the limelight for his raw pace and ability to post fear in the batters’ eyes.
Malik has been consistently clocking over 150kph speed in the IPL 2022, which has become a normal trend for the Jammu & Kashmir pace bowler. During the match against Kolkata Knight Riders, Umran castled KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer with a toe-crushing yorker.

Malik replicated his clinical performance against Punjab Kings with the spell of 4/28, he became the fourth bowler in the IPL to bowl a maiden over in the 20th overs of an innings. He picked three wickets in the final over to restrict PBKS to 151 as SRH won by seven wickets with seven balls to spare.

The 22-year-old, who was retained by SRH ahead of the IPL 2022 auction, intends to play and perform for the Men in Blues. The J&K pacer also expressed gratitude towards his IPL franchise for instilling faith within him.
“God willing. My aim is to play for India and do well. I’ll develop all the deliveries gradually. I’m working on the slower ball and knuckleball,” Malik told the Times of India.

“I come from a small city, but I’m getting a feeling that everyone is beginning to know about me now. The best thing is that the SRH franchise has backed me a lot. I was a net bowler. They played me, and now because of them, everyone knows who I am,” he added.
Malik has scalped nine wickets in six games at 22.33 and an economy rate of 9.14. Although he gets hit for runs, the SRH management isn’t concerned about it as long as he delivers the role of wicket-taking aggressor.
SRH will play their next match of IPL 2022 against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Brabourne Stadium in Wankhede.
