Ravichandran Ashwin, India’s second-highest wicket-taker in Test cricket, says he has never chased numbers in his career and views personal achievements as simply part of the Process, not the final goal.

After surpassing legendary Kapil Dev’s tally of 434 wickets in the last Test series against Sri Lanka, Ashwin became India’s second most wicket-taker in Test matches with 12 wickets at an average of 15.08.

“The numbers are fantastic, and it’s truly inspiring to see what I’ve accomplished in terms of numbers.” “The more I performed, the further it seemed like the figures were a part of the journey, not the destination,” Ashwin said in a statement.

“The vibe has been wonderful in the last 2-3 years, with series wins in Australia and a return to the T20 team, this one almost seems to include how I experienced since I first stepped into the squad, in which a lot was going was a lot going on for me.”

Ravichandran Ashwin will play for the Rajasthan Royals:

Ravichandran Ashwin, who has been signed by Rajasthan Royals for his fifth franchise in the IPL, claimed the profitable T20 league has enabled him to improve into a stronger bowler from the start.

“The IPL is a difficult event; there are numerous elements that might influence the outcome of each season.” “You name it, there’s a variable that can affect a game in numerous ways – which makes it very difficult to prepare for everything beforehand and you have to be ready and prepared,” Ashwin said in a statement released by RR.

Sanju Samson, the RR captain, was also praised by Ravichandran Ashwin.

“I believe Sanju has a great attitude and a strong head on his shoulders. He’s always up for a debate and hearing other people’s perspectives on the game, which is a great attribute to have. Sanju, I believe, has the vantage position of a wicketkeeper to analyze the game from all aspects, the surface, and how things would play out. He also has experience on his side and will undoubtedly improve,” Ashwin said.

Rajasthan will open their 2022 campaign against Sunrisers Hyderabad on 29th March at MCA Stadium, Pune.
