The IPL 2022 season has come to a close, and the first of three playoff matches will be played on Tuesday. Gujarat Titans, who are currently atop the table, will face Rajasthan Royals for a position in the final.

The match will be held in Kolkata’s Eden Gardens, which will host its first IPL match of the season. Both clubs will be aiming for their veteran players to shine in this match.

Sanju Samson’s squad has a minor advantage over Hardik Pandya, according to ex-New Zealand captain and ex-RCB coach and captain Daniel Vettori, because they have three experienced bowlers who can use their experience on a crucial match-day; Yuzvendra Chahal, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Trent Boult.

Shane Warne Has been Watching Me From Above: Yuzvendra Chahal

Yuzvendra Chahal attributed his achievement to the close-knit squad and added that playing for RR was more special because of the late Shane Warne, who led the team in its maiden season.

“I know it’s just the first season here (at Royals) for me, but it feels like I’ve been playing here for many years. I’m really relaxed here mentally, and I believe the credit goes to the people here, who take really good care of me …it has really made me connect with the franchise at a different level,” said Chahal.

“On the other hand, it’s also special for me because Warne sir played for RR and was the first-ever Royal, and I think his blessings are with me. I feel like he’s been watching me from above,” he added.

Chahal now leads the Purple Cap race with 26 wickets in 14 games. Ashwin has been an excellent supporter of him, taking 11 wickets in 14 outings with an excellent economy rate.
