Kuldeep Yadav has seen a resurgence in his form in IPL 2022. He has credited Rishabh Pant, his captain at Delhi Capitals for his return to form.

Kuldeep Yadav’s career was on a download spiral after he didn’t get to play a single game for Kolkata Knight Riders in the last season of IPL.

Even in the 2020 season, he played only 5 games for his previous franchise.

Injuries too hampered his progress as he went through a knees surgery recently.

Kuldeep Yadav was bought by Delhi Capitals for 2 Crores at the Mega Auctions and he has repaid the faith shown by the management as he has already picked 13 wickets from 7 games for the franchise.

Rishabh Pant Helps A Lot From Behind The Stumps: Kuldeep Yadav

It’s not a secret that MS Dhoni during his playing days for the Indian cricket team was a blessing for the spinners as he always used to guide the bowlers whatever the situation. Kuldeep Yadav believes that Rishabh Pant is on the same path.

“I am getting a feeling… the way Rishabh has been keeping behind the stumps, he is on the right path. He is following Mahi bhai’s footsteps,” Kuldeep said on a podcast.

The way he guides us, he is showing glimpses of similarity to Mahi bhai. He remains very calm, whenever I or any bowler goes for runs, he stays calm, he doesn’t get worried. Mahi bhai was also like this.

“Whenever you get hit and when you hear a voice from behind the stumps, saying ‘don’t worry, it was a good ball’, you feel very relaxed. It matters a lot, especially for a spinner. The voice from behind the stumps is important.

“There are a few wicketkeepers who keep telling the spinners. Wicketkeepers play a big role in the success of spinners. The credit for my performance in this IPL goes to Rishabh as well. We have a good understanding now,” he added.

Kuldeep Yadav didn’t have a great game in his last outing but he would hope to change things around in the next game.
