IPL 2022: Rishabh Pant Told Me That He Is Excited To Have Me In The Delhi Capitals Team – West Indies Batter Rovman Powell

Explosive West Indies batter Rovman Powell has revealed that the Delhi Capitals (DC) captain Rishabh Pant is excited to have him in the Delhi Capitals (DC).

The West Indies power-hitter Powell was bought by the Delhi Capitals at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction in Bengaluru for INR 2.8 crores. He along with wicketkeeper-batter KS Bharat attended their first practice session with the Delhi Capitals in Mumbai on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Powell has said that he has heard a lot of good things about the DC franchise and is delighted to be a part of the team. He said:

“It’s been very good to be in the Delhi Capitals camp. I have heard a lot of good things about this franchise. The players have welcomed me with open arms. I had a chat with Rishabh during the T20 series in Kolkata as well. He told me that he is excited to have me in the Delhi Capitals team.”

He was also hopeful of learning a few things from DC head coach Ricky Ponting. The West Indies batter asserted:

“As a child I watched Ricky Ponting bat a lot. We know the type of leader he was when he captained the Australian team and I think he is the same type of leader as a coach as well. He is really good and, hopefully, I can learn a thing or two from him.”

Wicketkeeper-batsman Kona Srikar Bharat, who was bought by DC for INR 2 crore in the auction, was also delighted to be back in the Delhi camp. The wicket-keeper said that he will be keeping things simple and will be following his process during the 15th edition of the tournament. He asserted:

“It’s amazing to be back in the Delhi camp. I am looking forward to a fantastic season as a unit. It’s been good to interact with some of the players during our first training session as well. I am looking to keep things simple and follow my process this season.”

The Delhi Capitals will begin their Indian Premier League 2022 campaign with the battle against Mumbai Indians on March 27.
