IPL 2022: Shikhar Dhawan Is Not Talked About As Much As Other Players, He Deserves Praise – Harbhajan Singh

Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh said Shikhar Dhawan’s form is often overshadowed by his teammates and called him an IPL legend.
In the ongoing IPL 2022, Dhawan became the second player after Virat Kohli to complete 6000 runs in the cash-rich league.

Dhawan joined Punjab Kings this year after majorly playing for the Delhi and Hyderabad outfits in the IPL.
Dhawan is the most prolific batter in the Punjab team who can provide the perfect start to the innings with his natural range of shots.
The southpaw has scored 369 runs in 10 innings at 46.13 and a strike rate of 124.66 so far in IPL 2022.
In PBKS’ match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Dhawan accomplished two great milestones – he played his 200th IPL match and accumulated 6000 IPL runs.
His unbeaten 59-ball 88 pushed PBKS’ total to 187 and helped them clinch the game by 11 runs. The PBKS opener was awarded player of the match for splendorous knock.

Dhawan remained unbeaten on 62 against Gujarat Titans as PBKS won by eight wickets with 24 balls to spare.
“Shikhar Dhawan deserves praise as he has scored over 6000 runs. He is not talked about as much as other players and some are given too much attention. He is an IPL legend in himself. He has scored runs against all the opposition and proved himself,” Harbhajan told Sportskeeda.
“His role for Punjab is to bat responsibly and does not give his wicket away and that’s his weapon. We all like shots that Livingstone plays, but what’s important is the partnership. When a team needs 60-80 runs from a batter, Dhawan is always there,” he added.
Dhawan is the third-highest run-scorer in IPL 2022 behind KL Rahul (451) and Jos Buttler (588). Delhi Capitals opener David Warner is fourth on the list with 356 runs in eight innings.
