IPL 2022: The TATA IPL Is Made Incredible By The Innings Like These – Kevin Pietersen Hails Jos Buttler For His Innings vs Delhi Capitals (DC)

Former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen showered high praise on Rajasthan Royals (RR) star Jos Buttler for his innings against Delhi Capitals (DC), where he smashed his third ton of the Indian Premier League 2022.

Jos Buttler is in exceptional form in the Indian Premier League 2022, having already scored 491 runs in just 7 innings at a marvellous average of 81.83 and strike rate of 161.51, including 3 tons and two half-centuries with his best score being 116, which came against Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals.

Speaking on ‘Cricket Live’ on Star Sports, Pietersen said that he is “running out of adjectives and superlatives” for Jos Buttler’s batting style. He asserted:

“We are running out of adjectives and superlatives. The TATA IPL is made incredible by the innings like these. The spectators love this, we love this, everybody in the studio loved this. I mean some of the shots he played you can’t buy them.

“You can’t practice that (because) no one sells it. You either have it or you don’t. He’s such a fine talent and in such a sublime form. When he starts to strike like that sometimes you’ve just got to say you know what, this guy is so good. He took his time and capitalised.”

Kevin Pietersen added that he is expecting Buttler to continue his dominance with the bat in the IPL 2022.

He said: “Jos did an unbelievable job against Delhi Capitals (in the previous game). I am sure he’ll continue to do so because when you’re in this kind of form in the tournament, you’ll just bat and bat and bat, especially when the wickets are this good. So, I don’t expect him to change the way he plays.”

He’s batting extremely well this season – Piyush Chawla on Jos Buttler

Former Indian leg-spinner Piyush Chawla was also highly impressed with the performance of the Rajasthan Royals opener in the 15th edition of the tournament. He said that the tally of 491 runs is something many players score in the entire tournament and added that Buttler is batting extremely well in the tournament.

He asserted: “We are only halfway through the tournament and he’s already scored 490-odd runs. Generally, people score that many runs in an entire season. He’s batting extremely well this season.”
