The IPL 2022 has been a spectacle so far. Batters have been gunning down for runs, while the wily and experienced bowlers have gunned down for wickets. A few young Indian bowlers have showcased their talent and have made a case for themselves so far in the season.

As far as run-scoring and topping the batting charts is concerned, Jos Buttler with 491 runs is topping the table. The next best is KL Rahul  368 runs from 8 games. Buttler and Rahul are the only two batsmen to score hundreds so far in the season.

Buttler has scored two back-to-back tons and Rahul has scored two centuries this season and both of them are against Mumbai Indians. In this article, we take a detailed look at the hundreds scored by them in IPL 2022 so far. The fastest among them is scored by KL Rahul against Mumbai Indians.

KL Rahul has a special liking for Mumbai Indians. He scored both his tons of IPL 2022 against the side the first of which came at the Brabourne stadium on April 16. Rahul scored 103 with nine fours and five sixes. His knock powered Lucknow to 199. Chasing 200 to win, Mumbai fell short by 18 runs as Rahul was awarded the Man of the Match for his knock.

Jos Buttler- 116 off 57 Balls Against Delhi Capitals

Buttler blew away the Delhi Capitals‘ bowling attack as he scored his third century of the season which was also his first of the lot. This was also his second on the trot after scoring 103 against KKR in Rajasthan’s previous match. Rajasthan Royals scored a mammoth 22 courtesy of Buttler’s blinder. He hit nine fours and nine sixes in his knock. Delhi in reply reached as far as 207/8 as they lost the game by 15 runs. This was one of the most controversial games this season so far.

Jos Buttler – 103 Off 59 Balls Against Kolkata Knight Riders

This was Jos Buttler’s second ton of IPL 2022. This time the KKR bowling attack was at the receiving end of yet another special innings from Buttler’s bat. He hit nine fours and five sixes in his innings taking the Royals to 217/5.

KKR in reply were in the game till the 16th over needing 40 from the last four overs. Yuzvendra Chahal’s hat-trick turned the match in Rajasthan’s favor as the Royals prevailed by just 7 runs, This was probably the best match of IPL 2022 thus far.

KL Rahul – 103 off 61 Balls Against Mumbai Indians

The Mumbai bowlers were at the receiving end of yet another IPL hundred from KL Rahul. On a difficult Wankhede wicket that was different from normal, KL Rahul seemed the only batsman who was able to play shots. The batsmen from both teams struggled to get the timing on the ball.

Rahul scored 103 with 12 fours and four sixes. Lucknow scored 169 with the bat which in the end proved enough against a hapless Mumbai Indians side who have not found ways to win in the first half of the season.

Jos Buttler 100 Off 66 Balls Against Mumbai Indians

This was Jos Buttler’s first hundred of the season and the first of IPL 2022 as well. The right-hander hit 11 four and five sixes at the DY Payl stadium as Mumbai Indians bowlers were at the receiving end of what Buttler was to present in this season. The Royals scored 193 powered by Buttler’s first tom of the season and Mumbai Indians in their chase reached only as far as 170/8.
