It Was yet another doubleheader day in IPL 2022 as Kolkata Knight Riders took on Gujarat Titans in the first game of the day and Royal Challengers Bangalore took on Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Gujarat Titans won a close game against KKR and got to the top of the points table. While Sunrisers decimated RCB to win their 5th straight game of the season.
Gujarat Titans vs Kolkata Knight Riders
Hardik Pandya returned for GT as he won the toss and chose to bat. While other batters struggled to get going he got to his third consecutive 50 of the season as he came into bat at no 3. His 50 propelled GT to 156.
At one time it looked like GT might get anywhere close to 170-180 but they lost their way in the end overs as they lost 7 wickets for just 23 runs, including 4 in the final over of Andre Russell.

KKR did not start their chase well as they lost both their openers to Mohammad Shami. GT continued to chip away with wickets. But Andre Russell kept KKR in the game till the last over of the match. But a brilliant catch by Locky Ferguson ended his innings.
KKR have just 3 wins in 8 games and their problems are just increasing with each loss.
Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Sunrisers Hyderabad
It was a no-contest between the two sides as SRH dominated the whole game from the very first over. Marco Jansen got three wickets in the 2nd over as he cleaned up RCB’s top order. SRH then gave absolutely no window to RCB to make a comeback as they bowled them out for just 68 runs.

SRH chased down the target in just 8 overs as Abhishek Sharma scored 47 runs from 28 balls.

Gujarat Titans got to the top of the points table while KKR are 7th on the points table. RCB despite their big loss are still in the top 4 and SRH too entered in the top 4.

Jos Buttler continues to lead the run charts. Hardik Pandya courtesy of his third consecutive fifty jumped to the 2nd spot.
Updated Purple Cap:
Umesh Yadav picked up a wicket and moved to the 5 spot on the list while T Natarajan courtesy of his 3 wicket haul against RCB jumped to the 2nd spot.
