Yuzuvendra Chahal’s 5 wicket haul and Jos Buttler‘s 2nd century of the season gave Rajasthan Royals their 4th victory of the IPL 2022.
Earlier in the day, Rajasthan Royals after having put into bat first made a flying start as they raced to 100 runs in 10 overs itself with the loss of just 1 wicket.
Devdutt Paddikal and Jos Buttler had an opening partnership of 97 runs after which Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson combined together and scored at a brisk pace. Samson scored 38 runs off just 19 balls.
At one stage when Samson was batting with Buttler it looked like RR would score more than 220+ but KKR bowlers pulled things back and restricted RR to 217, despite Shimron Hetmyer scoring 26 runs off 13 balls in the end.
The pick of the bowlers for KKR was Sunil Narine who picked up 2 wickets for just 21 runs. He was playing in his 150th game for the franchise.
KKR had a horrific start to their chase as they lost Sunil Narine on the very first ball of their innings via a runout. But then Shreyas Iyer and Aaron Finch combined together and had a 107 run partnership in just 8.5 overs. Prasidh Krishna outfoxed Finch to give RR the breakthrough, but Shreyas Iyer held one end up. Yuzuvendra Chahal picked up 4 wickets in one over and changed the game. But Umesh Yadav with some blistering hits in the end gave a scare to Rajasthan Royals, But Obed McCoy bowled a brilliant last over and got two wickets to give RR their 4th victory of the season.

The win has propelled RR to the 2nd on the points table while KKR sits in the 7th position. Gujarat Titans still lead the table.
Updated Orange Cap:
Jos Buttler with his century consolidated his position at the top of the orange cap list. Shreyas Iyer scored 85 runs and got to the 2nd on the list.
Updated Purple Cap:
Yuzvendra Chahal picked up a 5-fer and maintained his position at the top as well. There were no other changes in the list.
