IPL 2022: We Need To Conquer Those Crunch Moments In The Match: Sachin Tendulkar

IPL 2022: Mumbai Indians have lost 7 consecutive games in IPL 2022. This is a record in itself in the IPL. No team has ever lost their first 7 games in the history of the tournament. Sachin Tendulkar, the former MI captain on Star Sports said that his team needs to conquer the small margins.
MI latest loss came against Chennai Super Kings on Thursday. They lost the game on the last ball of the match courtesy of a masterclass from MS Dhoni.

We Need To Be More Clinical In Crunch Situations: Sachin Tendulkar
MI might have lost 7 games in the tournament, but their losses really haven’t been with big margins. They were in the contest for most of the games, but errors at crucial junctures cost them victories.
“Let’s first understand that in this format there isn’t a team who has not experienced what Mumbai Indians have experienced this season,” Tendulkar told Matthew Hayden during a chat on ‘Star Sports’.
“This format can be cruel. And those crucial moments in a match which don’t go in your favour then literally the margin is like… you lose a game by two or three runs or sometimes even the last ball.
“And those smaller margins, we need to go out and conquer those moments, those crunch moments in the match are what we have to win. And they haven’t gone our way,” he said.

I would like to clarify one more point: in spite of having had a challenging season the boys have gone out and worked as hard as possibly they could during their practice sessions.
“This is a new team, a young team. It may take a little more time to settle down, but these phases are such where you have to ride through these phases, stick together as a team and find the solution,” he further added.
Mumbai Indians might have lost 7 games on the trot but youngsters in the team have performed well. The likes of Tilak Varma, Dewald Brevis and Hrithik Shokeen have grabbed their chances with both hands. It’s a matter of time before MI changes things around.
