The South African opener, Quinton de Kock has been picked as one of the marquee players of the IPL 2022 auctions. There is no denying the fact that Quinton de Kock is one of the best openers in world cricket right now. Mumbai Indians, unfortunately, had to release him for the next edition of IPL but they would look to get back him into the team.

However, the franchise is likely to face tough competition as there will be more teams looking to acquire his services at the auctions. Quinton de Kock is known for getting the team off to solid starts and also keeping wickets for the team. He should cause a bidding war at IPL 2022 Auctions.

2. Kagiso Rabada

Much to everyone’s surprise, Delhi Capitals decided to let go of Kagiso Rabada for IPL 2022. The franchise opted to pick Anrich Nortje ahead of Rabada, meaning the latter will find himself at the mega-auctions. Perhaps, the franchise has forgotten Kagiso Rabada’s contribution to Delhi’s successful outing in IPL 2020.

He finished that season with 30 wickets to his name- the most by any player during that season. Rabada’s record in the shortest format speaks for himself. He is handy with the ball both in the powerplay as well as in death overs. A lot of franchises are likely to show their interest in Kagiso Rabada’s services at the auctions. He should get a million-dollar contract at the auctions.

3. Rassie van der Dussen

Rassie van der Dussen couldn’t take part in last year’s IPL season as Cricket South Africa denied giving him the NOC. The South African batsman will go under the hammer in the mega-auctions and is likely to play the tournament this year.

He is a dependable batsman in the middle-order and a lot of franchises would be interested in acquiring his services. Rassie van der Dussen played some outstanding knocks in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 and also replicated that form in the ODI series against India. It will be interesting to see if he could sign a big contract this year.

4. Faf du Plessis

Former South African captain, Faf du Plessis will be a player to watch out for at the auctions. He has been included among the marquee players and is likely to fetch a million-dollar contract. Faf du Plessis has played an instrumental role in Chennai Super Kings’s success in the Indian Premier League. He formed an outstanding opening pair with Ruturaj Gaikwad in the IPL 2021.

The duo set up wins for CSK with formidable partnerships for the opening wicket. He finished the tournament as the second-highest run-getter only behind Ruturaj Gaikwad. However, despite all those contributions, he wasn’t retained by the franchise for the next edition. Nevertheless, a lot of other franchises would be interesting in buying his services and he is likely to cause a bidding war.

5. Marco Jansen

Marco Jansen made his IPL debut last year for Mumbai Indians. He played two matches and picked 2 wickets at an average of 22.50. He showed his class in recent India’s tour of South Africa. Jansen was brilliant in both the Test series as well as the ODI series. He troubled Indian batsmen with his left-arm seam bowling. Jansen brings variety to the pace attack and the franchises would be tempted to have him in their squad. Marco Jansen is likely to fetch a good contract at the auctions.
