A total of 74 players were sold on the first day of IPL auction 2022 with a total sum of INR 3,88,10,00,000 being spent on these players on just the first day of the auction.
It was a day for the fast bowlers in the auction as both Indian and overseas pacers got great deals on the first day of the IPL auction 2022. However, a player that grabbed all the headlines was Mumbai Indians‘ record signing Ishan Kishan, who was signed for a mind-blowing amount of INR 15.25 Crores.

SunRisers Hyderabad, Delhi Capitals, and Lucknow Supergiants were on a shopping spree on Day 01 of the IPL mega auction. While SRH bought a total of 10 players, Delhi and Lucknow bought 9 players each. Delhi got a massive steal in the form of David Warner, who they acquired for just INR 6.25 Crores and for the same amount, Lucknow had the services of Quinton de Kock.
Some of the Uncapped Indian players also had a day to remember as Shahrukh Khan, the finisher from Tamil Nadu was bought back by his old team, Punjab Kings for INR 9 Crores while Avesh Khan, the speedster from Indore, was bought by Lucknow Supergiants for INR 10 Crores, making him the costliest ever uncapped Indian player in the IPL auction history.
