Just IN: IPL 2022 Player Auction List Announced, 590 Cricketers Shortlisted To Be Auctioned On 12, 13th February

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 player auction list has been announced and in total 590 cricketers are all set to go under the auction hammer on February 12 and 13 in Bengaluru.

The IPL 2022 will be the 15th edition of the marquee tournament and amongst 590 players, who have registered for the auction, 228 are capped, 355 are uncapped and 7 belong to Associate Nations. Also, amongst the 590 players, 370 are Indians and the remaining 220 are overseas players.

All the Indian Premier League franchisees will be engaged in a fierce battle to buy some of the finest Indian cricketers, like Shreyas Iyer, Shikhar Dhawan, Ravichandran Ashwin, Mohammad Shami, Ishan Kishan, Ajinkya Rahane, Suresh Raina, Yuzvendra Chahal, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar, Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav, etc.

Also, the teams will be focused on including international stars in their squad like Faf du Plessis, David Warner, Pat Cummins, Kagiso Rabada, Trent Boult, Quinton de Kock, Jonny Bairstow, Jason Holder, Dwayne Bravo, Shakib Al Hasan, Wanindu Hasaranga, etc.

Meanwhile, 48 players have been placed in the INR 2 crore bracket, 20 players have been placed in INR 1.5 crore bracket and 34 players are in INR 1 crore bracket.

IPL 2022 Set To Be A 10-Team Tournament

The marquee IPL 2022 is expected to begin on March 27, and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is hopeful of conducting the entire tournament in India.

The 2022 edition of the IPL will be a 10-team tournament as two new teams – Ahmedabad owned by CVC Capital and Lucknow owned by RPSG Group– have joined the cash-rich league.

The teams have already revealed their draft picks ahead of the upcoming mega auction. Ahmedabad included Hardik Pandya (Rs 15 crore), Rashid Khan (Rs 15 crore), and Shubman Gill (Rs 8 crore) in their team.

Meanwhile, the Lucknow franchise picked KL Rahul (Rs 17 crore), Marcus Stoinis (Rs 9.2 crore), and Ravi Bishnoi (Rs 4 crore) in their team. Also, with the addition of two new teams, more matches will be played in IPL 2022.
