Khaleel Ahmed Bought By Delhi Capitals (DC) For INR 5.25 Crore In IPL 2022 Mega Auction

The 24-year-old left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed was bought by Delhi Capitals (DC) for INR 5.25 Crore at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction, on day 2 at the Hotel ITC Gardenia in Bengaluru.

Khaleel was bought by the Delhi franchise for INR 10 lakh at the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction in 2016 and then he was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 auction.

Overall the left-arm seamer has played 24 Indian Premier League games and has bagged 32 wickets at an economy of 8.68 and average of 24.6.

Khaleel Ahmed had set his base price for the Indian Premier League 2022 at INR 50 lakh. Mumbai Indians wanted a partner for Jasprit Bumrah so they made the opening bid and soon Delhi Capitals came up with the counter-bid.

In a matter of a few minutes, Khaleel Ahmed’s price went over INR 2 crore and then 3 crores. Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals were desperate to add the left-arm seamer to their squad and they were engaged in an intense bidding war. When Khaleel Ahmed’s price went over INR 5 crore Mumbai Indians decided to pull out and he was sold to Delhi Capitals for 5.25 crore.

After the inclusion of Khaleel in the squad Delhi Capitals look incredible and now the remaining purse of the team is INR 10.15 crore.

Meanwhile, Khaleel Ahmed will be joining the pacers like Mustafizur Rahman, Anrich Nortje, Shardul Thakur and Kamlesh Nagarkoti in the team.
