After the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) beat the Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Monday, head coach Brendon McCullum praised young Rinku Singh.
In IPL 2022, the batsman’s brilliance guided the two-time winners to a much-needed triumph.
Kolkata lost their starters Aaron Finch and Baba Indrajith early in their chase for 153 runs. Nevertheless, team captain Shreyas Iyer and Nitish Rana set the stage for the chase with a 60-run 3rd stand. Even though Iyer was dismissed after a 32-ball 34-run inning, Rana made sure he fought until the end to make the game was won.
Rinku Singh also contributed with a useful 42 off 23 deliveries to help secure the match with five balls in hand. McCullum praised the Aligarh-born player, stating that Rinku had stated the following at precisely the right time.
Brendon McCullum remarked during the post-match ceremony held:
“Rinku has been a part of a franchise for a long time. I had the good fortune to spend a little time with him. He had to make statements, and he did so right away in the first match. Because Rana was in the midst, he (Rinku) had a lot of faith in his firm.”

“Naturally, I am ecstatic (with the win). It’s not easy to lose five games in a row. I’d want to congratulate all of the lads on their performance tonight. The boys have remained together and realistic. Tonight’s show was wonderful, and it was put on by two very good friends (Rana and Rinku).”
