Kolkata Knight Riders- Team News- Pat Cummins Available

Pat Cummins is out of quarantine and will be featuring in this game. With Pat Cummins available, he will be replacing either Tim Southee or Sam Billings in the eleven.

With KKR’s batting struggling, Sam Billings might get a nod ahead of Tim Southee and he may keep his place, with the latter making way for Pat Cummins. If Sam Billings sits out for Pat Cummins, keeper Sheldon Jackson will replace pacer Shivam Mavi in the eleven.

Pat Cummins returned to Australia after the three-match Test series in Pakistan and is expected to be available for Kolkata Knight Riders’ next fixture against Mumbai Indians. He may come into the side in place of pacer Tim Southee who has himself bowled quite well in the competition till now.

Mumbai Indians- Team News- Suryakumar Yadav May Not Play Again

Mumbai Indians though are not as fortunate as they are most likely to be without middle-order batter Suryakumar Yadav in this fixture. There were news reports earlier that Suryakumar Yadav had recovered completely after having sustained a hairline fracture on his thumb during the T20I series against West Indies in February.

However, captain Rohit Sharma has now said that Mumbai wants to give Suryakumar Yadav some time and doesn’t want to rush him given that finger injuries can be quite tricky. Going by the same, he is not expected to join the Mumbai XI for the next couple of matches and the likes of Tilak Varma and Anmolpreet Singh will have to up their game for Mumbai to score big runs consistently.

MI have so far looked like anything but IPL’s five-time champions, losing both their opening games – first against Delhi Capitals by four wickets and then against a resurgent Rajasthan Royals by 23 runs.

For Mumbai Indians, pacer Basil Thampi and spinner Murugan Ashwin have proved to be weak links as they yielded 73 runs in 3 overs during RR’s innings and the duo will need to produce a better show on Wednesday. In fact, Australian seamer Daniel Sams too went for runs and remained wicketless in the last two matches. Fabien Allen and Jaydev Unadkat may get a game.
