MS Dhoni is continually rewinding the clock, as per Aakash Chopra, with his two knocks for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL 2022.
In Wednesday night’s match against the Lucknow Super Giants, Dhoni slammed an unbeaten 16 off only six deliveries (LSG). The innings followed an undefeated half-century against the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2022 opener (KKR).
CSK’s batting performance versus LSG was discussed by Aakash Chopra. He had this to say about Dhoni:
“MS Dhoni is more of a sentiment than a player. He’s always winding the clock backward. His batting was fantastic, and there were only a few deliveries, but Dhoni is Dhoni.”
When asked about the CSK innings, the former India cricketer praised Robin Uthappa for getting the team off to a fast start. Chopra remarked:
“They [LSG] handed the first over to Avesh, and Robin Uthappa was extremely successful. The arrival of Avesh and Robin Uthappa altered the atmosphere. What a hitter he was. Robin performed admirably.”
In a spectacular effort on the LSG bowlers, Uthappa smashed 50 runs off just 27 deliveries.
Aakash Chopra on the early dismissal of CSK’s opening:
Ruturaj Gaikwad has gotten off to a bad start in the IPL season, according to Aakash Chopra. He went on to say:
“Ruturaj Gaikwad follows a similar pattern in that he takes things gently at first. Ravi Bishnoi scored a direct hit as he was probably thinking about the leg before. Then Moeen Ali appears, and he shines.”
The well-known analyst continued by saying that practically all of CSK’s batters did an excellent job in their respective responsibilities. Chopra elaborated:
“Except for one man, Ravi Bishnoi, who was very fantastic, nothing was going on in the bowling alley; whoever came in was getting whacked. Ambati Rayudu made a brief appearance as Jadeja near the conclusion. Everyone did exactly what was required of them. Shivam Dube also scored 49 points, though he was afterward charged with 25.”
Lucknow Super Giants defeat CSK by six wickets, completing the fourth-largest successful run chase in IPL history.
