LSG vs MI: Just Wanted To Get That Single First - KL Rahul

KL Rahul‘s 2nd consecutive century against Mumbai Indians helped Lucknow Super Giants register their 5th win of the season by 36 runs.
KL Rahul has been dismissed on golden ducks on two occasions this season but he has since returned to be in tremendous form as he has stuck two centuries. He became just the 2nd player after Virat Kohli to score two centuries against the same opponent in a single season. Virat had achieved the feat against the now-defunct Gujarat Lions in 2016.
I Was Trying To Play According To The Situation: KL Rahul
LSG did not have a flying start as they lost Quinton de Kock early. MI bowlers pretty much squeezed things in the middle but Rahul played with full responsibility.
If his 100 the other day against the same opponent was a masterclass in power hitting, this knock of his was a masterclass in controlling the innings together and unleashing in the end.
Both his knocks ended on the identical score of 103 not out.
After the game, KL Rahul said, “I tried to stay in the moment and see what’s expected from me. Fingers crossed I can carry on doing the same thing.”
When asked about getting so many awards for the game, he said, “I have to make up for the slow over-rate fines.”
KL Rahul has always scored runs in the IPL but his strike rate has been under the scanner off-late when asked about the reason for an increase in his strike rate this season, he said, “We do back deep with Holder walking in at No. 8 and he has hardly batted. When you have that depth, you can play freely and take more chances. Think that’s the only reason.”
On asked about his team’s performance so far in the tournament, he said, “I think the teams that can defend well, can bowl well in the powerplay and the death, are the teams that sit at the top and win tournaments. We were lucky enough to get some of the finest allrounders, having them in the team I have options in the middle, and that makes my life easier.”
LSG look in a very good position to qualify for the playoffs in their very first season.
