Former Indian batsman Aakash Chopra thinks that if the Delhi Capitals (DC) seem to be to make the playoffs, skipper Rishabh Pant must play a sensible inning against the Mumbai Indians (MI).
Chopra feels that Pant has had a handful of promising beginnings this campaign, but none of them have turned into match-winning innings.
Chopra thinks ‘Rishabh Pant may need to temper his basic tendencies and consider timing his innings for the team’s sake.
Aakash Chopra described why this innings will be a true test for Pant in a video on his YouTube channel. He said:
“Rishabh Pant must put his ego aside and see the greater picture. He’s a considerably more skilled player than his recent findings demonstrate. When Delhi has won, his average hasn’t been that high. As a result, no match-winning contribution has been made.”
‘DC has failed to do justice to Sarfaraz Khan’: Aakash Chopra
Aakash Chopra is perplexed by DC’s deployment of promising batsman Sarfaraz Khan. All through the campaign, the 24-year-old has indeed been in and out of the starting lineup, which has harmed his morale.
When he had the chance, DC didn’t bat him at his customary number in the middle order. Sarfaraz, on the other hand, was allowed to set up the innings in their previous match and made an immediate effect, scoring 32 runs in the first innings (16).
Aakash Chopra believes David Warner would remain with Sarfaraz Ahmed at the top of the lineup now that he has identified the appropriate partner in the lack of Prithvi Shaw. He explained:
“They have not yet done Sarfaraz due. He ought to have gotten more matches because he was hitting so well. However, they chose to let him out a little too soon.”
