Former India opener Aakash Chopra wants Mumbai Indians (MI) to play left-arm pacer Arjun Tendulkar in their last Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 game on Saturday, May 21.

Mumbai Indians (MI) will lock horns with Delhi Capitals (DC) in their last IPL 2022 fixture at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Even though MI are out of the playoffs race the match is not a dead rubber encounter as if Rohit Sharma and Co. win the match they will help Royal Challengers Bangalore qualify for IPL 2022 playoffs by eliminating Rishabh Pant-led side.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra said that Arjun should get a game as everyone in the MI squad has got a chance in IPL 2022 and opined that the left-arm pacer can replace Sanjay Yadav. He stated:

“Arjun Tendulkar should get a game. You have been picking him for the past 2-3 years and you have given almost everyone in the squad a chance to play. So I think he can replace Sanjay Yadav.”

Former India opener Chopra said that the Mumbai Indians are sending Daniel Sams to bat at No.3 as they have an eye on the future. However, he feels that the 19-year-old Tilak Varma should bat at No.3 and following him at No.4 and No.5 should be Tristan Stubbs and Tim David. He asserted:

“They are sending Daniel Sams to bat at No.3 and may have an eye on the future. But I feel Tilak should bat at 3, Stubbs at 4 and David at 5. Don’t pigeonhole David as just a finisher. He hits big sixes when he gets set to give him the opportunity to face more balls.”
