Former India National Cricket Team head coach Ravi Shastri feels that Rohit Sharma will score good runs in the last game of Mumbai Indians in IPL 2022 as the MI captain has got the support of his fans, Virat Kohli’s fans, and Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) fans.
Mumbai Indians will lock horns with Delhi Capitals (DC) in their last IPL 2022 fixture at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai and if they win the match they will help Royal Challengers Bangalore qualify for the IPL 2022 playoffs.

In an interaction on ESPNCricnifo, Shastri was asked whether Rohit will score a fifty against DC to maintain his record of smashing at least one fifty in every IPL season, to which the former India head coach replied by saying that Rohit and Mumbai Indians have got a lot of support and they will be looking forward to end the season on a high.
“What more do Mumbai Indians need for Rohit Sharma? Rohit Sharma fans, Virat Kohli fans, RCB fans are all with him. Virat Kohli scored 50 in the last game, if Rohit scores 50-60 then at least, [it will help them end the season nicely].
“Mumbai Indians are not habitual of finishing last. They have lost 10 matches. If they lose tomorrow, it will make it 11 losses from 14 games which they don’t want so they’ll try to win. If Rohit gets going we all know what he can do as an opener in white-ball cricket.”
If they give Arjun Tendulkar a chance and if he does well in his first match it’s good for the future – Ravi Shastri
Shastri was also asked whether Arjun Tendulkar should get a chance in Mumbai Indians’ playing XI in the match against DC.
The former India head coach responded by saying that Arjun is a decent bowler and if he gets a chance and performs well it would be great for MI’s future. He asserted:
“Why not? I have seen him in the nets. The Tendulkar name is a big name and he has very big boots to fill. But he bowls ‘theek thaak’ (decent), swings the new ball into the batters and is tall so gets the bounce too. So why not? If they have lost 11 matches then why does it matter? If they give Arjun a chance and if he does well in his first match it’s good for the future.”
