Rahul Chahar, the 22-year-old leg-spinner who is now with Punjab Kings, was a part of Mumbai Indians’ two IPL championship-winning campaigns (2019 and 2020), and he is optimistic that the Mayank Agarwal-led team will finally be able to earn that elusive maiden IPL trophy.
The Punjab Kings have never won the Indian Premier League. Their finest IPL performance came in the 2014 season (under George Bailey’s captaincy) when they reached the final but were defeated by the Gautam Gambhir-led Kolkata Knight Riders by three wickets.

Rahul Chahar discussed Punjab’s chances of winning their first title this season, as well as other topics.
In the four matches he has played so far this season, Rahul Chahar has taken seven wickets. So far in the 15th edition, he has taken the most wickets for Punjab.
Do you believe Punjab Kings have a chance to win the title this time?
“This time, we have a 100 percent chance of winning our first championship. Punjab Kings have a chance to win the trophy this time, given our team composition and batsmen’s performance.”
Rahul Chahar Talks His IPL Experience So Far:
“I’ve been in the IPL for around 4-5 years. This is the third time I’ve joined a team. For me, it’s been a wonderful learning experience. Dhoni bhaiya was a member of my first team (Rising Pune Supergiant). Imran Tahir was also present. Dhoni bhaiya and Tahir taught me a lot. I learned a lot throughout my four years with the Mumbai Indians.”

“I had the opportunity to play with renowned names like Kieron Pollard, Rohit Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah. My experience and comprehension of the game and situations have increased over time. I enjoy learning and will continue to do so in the future. IPL has been quite beneficial to me.”
On Wednesday, the Punjab Kings will face the Mumbai Indians at 7.30 p.m.
