MI vs RR: Revealed - Why Suryakumar Yadav Isn't Playing Today's Match Against Rajasthan Royals

Mumbai Indians (MI) batter Suryakumar Yadav will not be taking part in the match against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Saturday. The two teams are going head-to-head in the day game at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

Suryakumar recently finished rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) and joined the franchise. He missed out on MI’s first match against Delhi Capitals (DC) as he was unavailable.

He was expected to play in the second match. However, the 30-year-old is still unfit and didn’t take part in the warmup session before the match. Bowling coach Zaheer Khan had stated that he was a sure-shot starter but for now, Suryakumar will continue to stay on the sidelines.

Meanwhile, MI opted to go in with the same team that lost the first game. Youngsters, Tilak Varma and Anmolpreet Singh will get another go before one of them might have to make way for Suryakumar.

As for Rajasthan, they decided to drop Nathan Coulter-Nile after a horrible outing in game 1 and brought in Navdeep Saini. They have put their faith in the Indian cricketers and chosen only 3 overseas players.
