MI vs SRH: Twitter Reacts As Sunrisers Hold Nerve In Nail-Biting Finish Against Mumbai To Stay Alive In IPL 2022
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) survived a late onslaught from Tim David to register a thrilling victory over Mumbai Indians (MI) in their penultimate game of the IPL 2022 season on Tuesday.
Batting first, Sunrisers lost Abhishek Sharma early. However, a 78-run association between Priyam Garg and Rahul Tripathi rebuilt the innings. Priyam took the initiative early on before Tripathi took over.
The latter top-scored for his team with a 44-ball 76, studded with 9 fours and 3 maximums. A quickfire cameo from Nicholas Pooran then ensured that SRH end with an above-par total of 193 on the board.
Mumbai needed a good start to have a chance and Rohit Sharma provided just the same alongside Ishan Kishan. The two put on 95 runs for the opening wicket before Rohit fell to Washington Sundar for 48.
Kishan was also dismissed soon as Umran Malik began running riot through the middle order. Out of nowhere, the onus fell on Tim David to bring it home for the 5-time champions.
The 18th over bowled by T Natarajan went for 26 runs, with David smashing 4 sixes from it. However, he tried to take a single off the last ball and was run out by the bowler himself.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar proceeded to bowl a maiden over in the 19th which basically signaled the end for MI. Eventually, it was a nervy 3-run victory for SRH and they stay alive in the IPL 2022 season.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to MI vs SRH:
Umran Malik has to be in the next international squad. He has to be around Bumrah, Shami and Bhuvi to learn from them. What a 19th over from Bhuvneshwar Kumar tonight as well. A Wicket maiden in the 19th over???.

In two overs we saw the future of #MI in Tim David and a stirring reminder from Bhuvi that few bowl the yorker better

It will be really unfair if Rahul Tripathi doesn't get a place in India's squad for the upcoming T20I series against South Africa.
Tripathi has been delivering consistently for the last couple of seasons and has only improved further in #IPL2022

Next season we want 6th trophy @mipaltan #Mumbaiindians— ? (@HappyAlways05) May 17, 2022
When u let go Boult and Krunal and put all your money on Ishan and Archer, this was bound to happen. I think DC will have a walkover against MI and will qualify for the playoffs
