Mohammad Kaif is very impressed with Hardik Pandya’s captaincy for Gujarat Titans in IPL 2022. The former Indian player Kaif said that he watched Hardik Pandya captaining live at the Narendra Modi Stadium during IPL 2022 final and was impressed with his tactics as skipper.

Hardik Pandya led Gujarat Titans to IPL 2022 title under his captaincy. The Indian all-rounder also came up with an outstanding batting and bowling show in the tournament. The right-handed batsman slammed 487 runs in 15 games at an average of 44.27 to finish as the 4th highest run-getter in the season. He also scalped 8 wickets while bowling.

I Was Very Impressed With Hardik Pandya’s Captaincy: Mohammad Kaif

While speaking during a virtual interaction on Sony Sports, Mohammad Kaif highlighted how he was impressed with Hardik Pandya’s tactics during the IPL 2022 final, which he watched live at the stadium.

“I was there at the ground for the finals in Ahmedabad. I saw him captaining there live. His field placement was outstanding. He is also a good man manager because the way his players performed under pressure told me the story of nice vibes around the team. He’s backing his players; he was standing at mid-off and was talking to his players, especially to the bowlers when they felt the pressure in terms of bowling in death overs”, Kaif said.

“If you ask me personally, I was very impressed with his captaincy. There are a lot of teams playing the IPL from the very first year (and) have not done what Hardik did: winning the IPL title as a captain in the very first year,” Kaif further added.

Hardik Pandya is also set to lead India in a forthcoming T20I series against Ireland. A second-string Indian squad has been set up to face Ireland in two T20I games. Under skipper Pandya, the squad includes players like Ruturaj Gaikwad, Suryakumar Yadav, Rahul Tripathi, Dinesh Karthik, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Yuzvendra Chahal among others.

India tour of Ireland 2022 will witness two T20I games. The 1st T20I will take place on June 26 while the 2nd T20I will take place on June 28. Both the games will be played at The Village Stadium in Dublin.
