PBKS vs CSK: Shikhar Dhawan Becomes 8th Cricketer To Play 200 Matches In The History Of IPL
Shikhar Dhawan will be playing his 200th game in the IPL when he takes the field against Chennai Super Kings on Monday for Punjab Kings.
Dhawan has played for 5 franchises in the IPL which includes, Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Deccan Chargers and Punjab Kings.
He Becomes The 8th Player To Reach The Milestone
Shikhar Dhawan is the 8th player in the history of the tournament to be playing his 200th game in the tournament. MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, Dinesh Karthik, Robin Uthappa and Ravindra Jadeja are the other 7 players on the list.
MS Dhoni has played the most number of games in the tournament with 228 caps to his name to date, followed by Dinesh Karthik, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, Suresh Raina and Robin Uthappa.
Shikhar Dhawan is nearing another milestone as he is just 2 runs away to complete 6,000 runs in the tournament. If he achieves the milestone he will become just the 2nd batter to reach the record after former India captain Virat Kohli.
Shikhar Dhawan also holds the record for the most number of fours hit by a batter in the cash-rich tournament. Not many may know but Dhawan also has 4 wickets in the IPL.
Dhawan has been a consistent performer for whichever side he has played as his records clearly show.
Dhawan also holds the record for hitting two consecutive centuries in back to back games in IPL.
Shikhar Dhawan has been in decent touch for Punjab Kings this season but the franchise would hope that Dhawan starts to convert his starts into big scores.
