Gujarat Titans (GT) defeated Punjab Kings (PK) by six wickets after Rahul Tewatia smashed two straight sixes on the final two balls (PBKS). On Friday, one of the most spectacular games in IPL history was carried out at the Brabourne Stadium.
After bowler Odean Smith unexpectedly gave an overthrow on the 3 delivery of the over, the all-rounder went on strike. David Miller would have gone on strike if it hadn’t been for that, with GT requiring an unthinkable 12 off the final two balls.

It takes a special kind of performance to pull off something like this, but Rahul Tewatia maintained things simple, which may have helped him pluck triumph from the agony of defeat.
Rahul Tewatia was on strike against speedster Odean Smith with 12 runs to win off the last two balls of the match. In just three balls, the southpaw scored an unbeaten 13 at a strike rate of 433.33, leading to a 190-run chase in 20 overs.
In the last over, there wasn’t much to think about: Rahul Tewatia
“There wasn’t much to think about,” the Haryana native said of his calm demeanor in the last over. He then disclosed that he had planned Smith’s final ball ahead of time and congratulated GT management for their behind-the-scenes efforts.
He stated, ” “It’s satisfying to win a game. In the last over, there wasn’t much to think about; we just had to hit sixes, and that’s what David (Miller) and I were talking about. I knew it had gone off the middle of the bat on the last-ball six, so it would clear the fence.”

He continued, “ “I premeditated, sensing he (Odean) bowl wide outside off to me, and it worked out beautifully for me. The atmosphere in the changing area is quite relaxing. Gary Kirsten, Ashu Bhai (Ashish Nehra), and the support crew did an outstanding job. We’re only told to follow through on the plans and make sure they’re properly backed up.”
With the win, GT moved up to second place overall. On April 11, they’ll face the SunRisers Hyderabad.
