Punjab Kings Set To Enter The IPL 2022 Mega Auction With 'Zero' Retentions – Reports

According to reports, Punjab Kings (PBKS) franchise have decided not to retain any of their players, ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction and they are set to enter the auctions with the full purse balance of Rs 90 crore.

All the 8 existing Indian Premier League (IPL) teams have been informed to submit the list of the retained players by November 30. However, PBKS are thinking to release all of their players ahead of the Indian Premier League 2022 mega auction.

(PBKS) have so far been unable to win an Indian Premier League (IPL) title despite having a star-studded line-up. The closest they came to clinching the title was in the year 2014, when they finished as runners up.

In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, they finished at 6th place in the standings, and the change in name didn’t change the fortunes of the team Punjab Kings ( previously known as Kings XI Punjab)

Captain KL Rahul Doesn’t Want To Remain In Punjab Kings Considering The Lack Of Success: Reports

Earlier it was reported that PBKS captain KL Rahul has informed the franchise that he didn’t want to stay with the team after the lack of success. Notably, Indian T20 vice-captain KL Rahul who is considered as one of the best limited-overs batters of India, is expected to join Ahmedabad or Lucknow franchise.

Meanwhile, The Telegraph India reports claim that PBKS are looking to retain Arshdeep Singh or Ravi Bishnoi. However, nothing has been finalised yet.

“Since the franchise would only need to shell out INR 4 crore if they retain an uncapped player, one of Arshdeep and Bishnoi could be persisted with,” the report said.
