Faf du Plessis-led RCB are currently placed seventh in the points table with one win and a loss in their kitty. They lost the opening game against Punjab Kings but held on to their nerves in their next game to register a three-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders.

After having assembled an excellent side in the auction, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) started off their campaign on a disappointing note failing to defend an excess of 200 runs total against Punjab Kings in their season opener.

They are missing some of their first-choice players but came back strongly against KKR to bounce them out and win their 2nd game in a brilliant manner. They lost quite a lot of wickets in that game which they shouldn’t have.

One of their retained players in Glenn Maxwell has joined the squad but he won’t be available for the game as Cricket Australia contracted players are available only from the 6th of April. RCB takes on RR on the 5th of April and hence Glenn Maxwell will not be available for selection. The Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood is yet to join the team and he would not be available for selection either.

Faf du Plessis will lead the side in the next game as well and will open the innings for the team. The right-handed batsman played a fabulous knock of 88 runs in the opening game against Punjab which went in vain before scoring 5 against KKR, which RCB won.

He will aim to smash a similar knock like 1st match in the next game against Rajasthan as well. The veteran batter from South Africa was bought by the RCB for INR 7 crore at the IPL 2022 Mega Auction.

Anuj Rawat

Anuj Rawat might be the opening partner of Faf du Plessis in the next game as well. He scored 21 runs in the match against Punjab and was dismissed without scoring against Kolkata. Anuj Rawat will aim to come up with a good show in the next game and give support to set up a good start for the team.

The 22-year-old cricketer from Delhi, Anuj Rawat, is quite excited at the prospect of representing Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the upcoming IPL 2022 season. He was picked up by the franchise for INR 3.40 crores.

Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli might continue to bat at the no.3 position in the next game of IPL 2022 as well. The right-handed batsman gave a decent performance in the opening game against Punjab, hitting an unbeaten 41 off 29 balls. He will aim to support the team in the one-down position. He scored only 12 runs off 7 balls before edging the ball to Sheldon Jackson off Umesh Yadav.

Virat Kohli is the leading run-scorer in the IPL and holds the record for the most number of centuries (4) in an IPL season. He was retained ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction for INR 15 crores but he relinquished captaincy.

Dinesh Karthik

Dinesh Karthik might be the middle-order batsman for the team and the wicketkeeper. In the game against Punjab, Dinesh Karthik gave a magnificent performance, hitting a blistering knock of 32 runs of just 14 balls.

He will aim to continue with his hard-hitting batting style in the next game against Rajasthan as well after scoring an unbeaten 14 off 7 balls and hitting the match-winning runs against Kolkata Knight Riders. Royal Challengers Bangalore wrested him from the jaws of Chennai Super Kings after an intense bidding war for Rs 5.50 crore at IPL 2022 mega auctions.

Sherfane Rutherford might be another batter for the team in the middle order. He did not get a chance to bat in the opening game. He will be gearing up to come up with a great show in the next match against Rajasthan after scoring 28 vital runs against KKR off 40 balls.

Sherfane Rutherford isn’t one of the most dynamic names when it comes to pyrotechnics. However, he is an exceptionally reliable name in the middle order. The left-handed batter from West Indies was picked by the RCB for his base price of INR 1 crore at the IPL Auction.

He has scored only 101 runs in 9 IPL games averaging 16.83 and will certainly want to make amends. He played 7 games for Delhi in IPL 2019- his previous and first IPL season.

Shahbaz Ahmed

Shahbaz Ahmed might be the all-rounder for the team in the next game of IPL 2022. He did not bat in the match against Punjab but scored a cameo of 27 off 20 against KKR. With the ball, he bowled 1 over and conceded 6 runs against Punjab, and leaked 16 runs in one over against KKR.

A fine spinner and a handy batter, Shahbaz Ahmed haS played a total of 14 games in the league with his best bowling figures being 3/7.

Sri Lankan leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga joined Royal Challengers Bangalore for INR 10.75 crore at the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. Royal Challengers Bangalore went all guns blazing for the youngster, who took a hattrick in the recently concluded 2021 T20 World Cup.

Wanindu Hasaranga gave a breakthrough to the team in the game against Punjab by picking the opening wicket of Punjab skipper Mayank Agarwal. He bowled some good balls but also conceded 40 runs in his 4-over spell. Wanindu Hasaranga was Man of the Match against KKR returning with outstanding figures of 4/20 in 4 overs which included the prized scalp of KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer.

David Willey

David Willey might be a pacer for the team in the next game. David Willey bowled 3 overs in the opening game against Punjab. He remained wicketless and gave away 28 runs. He can give good support to the team in bowling. He was promoted up the order against KKR and scored 18 runs off 28 balls. He bowled 2 overs and conceded 7 runs without picking a wicket against Kolkata.

English all-rounder, David Willey was picked by the RCB at the 2022 Mega Auction for his base price of INR 2 crore. David Willey made his debut for England in 2015 in limited-overs cricket.

Harshal Patel

Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Harshal Patel picked 1 wicket in the game against Punjab and conceded 36 runs in his 4 overs. He will aim to lead from the front in the pace department in the next game. He bowled 2 maiden overs against KKR and had figures of 2/11 off 4 overs besides being unbeaten on 10 runs to see Royal Challengers Bangalore win.

Harshal Patel fetched a whopping ₹10.75 crore in the IPL Mega Auction as Royal Challengers Bangalore bought back the Indian pacer. The fast bowler won the Purple Cap in the 2021 edition of the league with 32 wickets in his kitty.

Mohammed Siraj

Mohammed Siraj might be another pacer for the team in the next game of IPL 2022. Mohammed Siraj picked 2 crucial wickets for the team in the match against Punjab. However. the right-arm pacer emerged a little expensive, conceding 59 runs in his 4 overs. He returned with figures of 1/25 in 4 overs against KKR picking up opener Ajinkya Rahane’s wicket.

His show with the red and white ball has been the talk of the circuit and his consistency in bowling was rewarded when he was retained by the RCB ahead of the 2022 edition of the league. RCB retained the pacer for INR 7 crores.

Bengal bowler Akash Deep impressed everyone as he took 3/45 against Kolkata Knight Riders helping RCB register their first win in IPL 2022. He didn’t have a great IPL debut against Punjab Kings.

The Bengal pacer was drafted into the RCB set up last year in the UAE leg of the IPL as a net bowler before being named as a replacement for all-rounder Washington Sundar who suffered an injury. Akash Deep didn’t get a game last year but left a mark to be picked again this year at the mega auction last month at his base price of Rs 20 lakh.
