After Royal Challengers Bangalore snapped their winless streak with a convincing victory against Chennai Super Kings in Pune on Wednesday, Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell exchanged lighthearted remarks.

After defeating Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2022 Match 49, Royal Challengers Bangalore players were in the game to have some fun in the dressing room.

Glenn Maxwell, one of the key players in RCB’s 13-run triumph, teased Virat Kohli as the two stars reflected on the ‘crucial’ win that moved the former champions into the top four of the standings.

Glenn Maxwell joked that he’ll never bat alongside skipper Virat Kohli anymore, remembering the RCB innings’ run-out. Maxwell got run-out for three runs after facing only three deliveries while attempting to complete a fast single in response to Kohli’s request in the field.

Robin Uthappa, at short cover, rushed around the ball and got a good throw-in to ensure CSK captain MS Dhoni whipped the bails off in time as Maxwell fell well short of the crease.

Virat Kohli appreciated the effort of the Australian all-rounder:

Kohli attempted to take a quick single following smashing Ravindra Jadeja’s delivery to the off-side in the ninth over. Maxwell seemed unhappy after failing to bother the scores much and was sent in at No. 3 to build on Kohli and Faf du Plessis’ strong opening stand.

“I’m sorry, but I’m not able to bat with you. You’re going too fast, you’re going too fast. I don’t get ones and twos like you do “In a video posted by RCB, Maxwell stated.

Kohli kicked off the conversation in the locker room by declaring Maxwell the ‘greatest injured player’ as he went in. Kohli praised the Australian all-contribution rounders with the ball, which led to CSK’s failure to chase down 174 in Pune.

Despite picking up a niggle, Maxwell took the wickets of dangerous Ambati Rayudu and Robin Uthappa for just 22 runs in his 4-over stint.

“That was a great triumph, and it was crucial. The greatest injured player in the game’s history (laughs). 2 for 22 in 4 overs “Kohli remarked.

The victory was significant for RCB, who now have 12 points from 11 games. RCB is now in fourth place, with two points more than SunRisers Hyderabad, who have only played nine matches thus far.
