Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batter Glenn Maxwell was dismissed at an inopportune moment as RCB began losing their grip against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the MCA Stadium in Pune on Wednesday.

Put in to bat first, Faf du Plessis and Kohli built RCB’s highest opening wicket stand of the season. While Kohli had flashes of brilliance, du Plessis scored at a brisk rate.

However, once the spinners came on, the brakes were applied. Du Plessis went first and Maxwell followed soon after. In an attempt to take a quick single, Kohli and Maxwell had a bit of miscommunication.

The single was always inexistent but Kohli ended up being involved in his 4th run out of the season, the joint-most for a player. Maxwell, being one of the better players against spin, had to walk back after scoring 3 off 3 balls.
