Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will go facing table-clinchers Gujarat Titans (GT) in their last league match of the ongoing IPL 2022 on Thursday, May 19. Regardless of the fact that GT has already progressed to the playoffs, Ravi Shastri accepts that they can’t bear to be self-satisfied against RCB.
The former head coach of the Indian team expressed that GT would know that they could need to confront RCB again in the playoff games.
GT Will Have Future Match-up Against RCB In Mind
Given Bangalore’s ritzy setup, he guessed that Gujarat would have zero desire to confront the Royal Challengers again in IPL 2022. Ravi Shastri said on ESPNcricinfo:
“Gujarat Titans will not be complacent as they know Royal Challengers Bangalore have a number of big names in their side. If they lose this game and RCB qualify, then they will have to play against them again. They will have that in mind.”
The cricketer-turned-commentator recommended that Hardik Pandya and Co. could hope to allow new players an opportunity during the conflict against RCB, as they have previously fixed a spot in the top two. He added:
“GT are in a position where they have nothing to lose now. They have already qualified and are at the top of the table. They can afford to experiment and give new players a chance.”
The upcoming game is a terrifically significant one for Bangalore as they hope to make the IPL 2022 playoff
RCB Should Make It To The Playoffs This Time: Ravi Shastri
Ravi Shastri brought up that RCB ends up in a spot of trouble consistently around the playoff games. He featured that previously, it has created the impression that they would effectively qualify just to lose steam towards the business end of the competition. Shastri explained:
“RCB should make it to the playoffs this time around. I feel a new team will win this year. Many times we think at the halfway stage that RCB will easily qualify, but then they stumble before the playoffs. Still, they somehow manage to make it to the top four.”
The ongoing IPL 2022 mission has been a mishmash for the Faf du Plessis-drove side. They have seven successes to their name so far from thirteen games and are at present fifth in the points table.
