Marco Jansen wreaked havoc against Royal Challengers Bangalore here on Saturday as he helped his side, Sunrisers Hyderabad notch up their 5th straight win of the season.

He picked up 3 wickets in the 2nd over of the first innings and sent Royal Challengers Bangalore on the back foot straightaway.

I Looked To Keep Things Simple: Marco Jansen

Marco Jansen bowled beautifully as he got the wickets of Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli and Anuj Rawat in the same over. He clean bowled Faf, and then Kohli and Rawat edged to 2nd slip in the same over to give Jansen 3 wickets in his very first over.

Earlier in the day Kane Williamson won the toss and chose to bowl first. Williamson has been very lucky with the toss this season as he has won 7 consecutive tosses which have resulted in 5 consecutive wins chasing the target.

Winning the toss is one thing and proving the captain’s decision is another but Jansen was ready for the challenge as he moved the ball from the word go.

SRH has been one of the best bowling sides in this year’s IPL so far as they have picked wickets in the powerplay on a regular basis. It wasn’t much different against RCB as well.

Janson was happy about his performance as he in the post-match presentation said, “I just try to keep it as simple as possible, have a nice clear game plan. Sometimes it goes and flies well out of the hand. [On his three wickets in an over] After the first ball, I thought the ball is gonna swing nicely. Then the next ball didn’t swing as much and it went on with the angle. For me personally, I enjoyed my third wicket, the left-hander. Definitely, the best white-ball over I’ve bowled so far.”

Jansen was well supported by Indian left-arm seamer T Natarajan who also picked up 3 wickets in the game. Natarajan currently sits on the 2nd spot in the purple cap list.
