RR vs CSK: Watch - Mitchell Santner Takes A Brilliant Return Catch To End Sanju Samson's Innings
Rajasthan Royals had already almost qualified for the 2022 IPL playoffs before their last game against Chennai Super Kings on Friday at the Brabourne Stadium.
Only something drastic would have ousted them from the competition
Rajasthan Royals Did Well To Restrict CSK For A Low Total
Rajasthan Royals once again lost the toss and fielded first. They conceded just 3 runs in the first two overs and also got the wicket of Ruturaj Gaikwad. But after that Moeen Ali went berserk as CSK scored 72 runs in the powerplay and Ali completed his half-century in just 19 balls. But after the powerplay, RR pulled things back brilliantly. CSK managed just over 40 runs in the last 10 overs and restricted CSK to just 150 runs.
At one time it seemed as if CSK would score anywhere between 180-200 but it was the spin duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal once again who pulled things back for RR in the middle overs.
RR did not have the best of the starts to their chase as they lost Jos Buttler early once again. But then Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson had a good little partnership in the middle.
But once the spinners came into the attack for CSK run-scoring became difficult for RR. Sanju Samson tried to go after Santner but he could only hit a flighted delivery from Santner straight into his hands. The ball was hit hard and it was going at a pace but Santner managed to judge the trajectory of the ball and took a great catch to dismiss Samson.
RR need to win this game if they want to qualify as the 2nd ranked team on the points table.
