Rishabh Pant led Delhi Capitals to their sixth win of the season and kept their hopes alive in IPL 2022. Their recent win came against Rajasthan Royals as they won by 8 wickets chasing a modest 161. Delhi, however, has not yet won back to back games in this IPL season so far.

After Delhi’s win against Rajasthan, former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja has shared a piece of advice for Rishabh Pant. His comments came after a picture of Pant along with Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav listening to MS Dhoni’s advice went viral on social media.

Speaking to Cricbuzz, Jadeja said that Pant should refrain from doing what MS Dhoni does. However, he can always learn from him the little things regarding captaincy in a high-pressure tournament like the IPL.

“Yes you have to go through the heat, there’s no doubt about that. I can only suggest one thing. I saw his photo on social media and he sat in front of Dhoni with his hands behind his ears, so I say ‘Hold your ears in front of this guy and just learn.’

He further said that his only advice to Pant is to do things as a captain that MS Dhoni did at his age. The former Indian cricketer further said that Pant though a youngster himself is seen as a very senior player in the side because he is the captain of Delhi Capitals.

“So the only suggestion is to learn from Dhoni but you have to do what he used to do at your age. You should not even try doing what he does now. He’s a young player but feels like he has been made a senior statesman very early,” Jadeja further added.

AS far as Pant’s IPL 2022 season is concerned, he has scored 294 runs this season with a strike rate of 152.72, which is much better than in the last two years. Pant has to play a couple of key knocks if Delhi are to make the playoffs.
