Former Indian cricketer Parthiv Patel expressed disappointment over Delhi Capitals (DC) for not playing Srikar Bharat for the most matches in IPL 2022.
Bharat played eight IPL matches for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) last season before joining the Capitals this year. He scored 191 runs in seven innings while batting in the middle order with an average of 38.20 and a strike rate of 122.43.

The Andhra Pradesh wicketkeeper-batter also had a great stint with the state side in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021-22 scoring 370 runs in five innings with the help of a couple of centuries.
However, Srikar Bharat warmed the bench for 10 games this season as he looked like a backup wicketkeeper in the squad. On the sidelines of Prithvi Shaw’s illness, Bharat played his first match for the Capitals against Chennai Super Kings on May 8.
Bharat smashed a couple of fours to Simarjeet Singh before he toe-ended a catch to Moeen Ali in the slip cordon while attempting a pull shot.

Parthiv said there won’t be any changes in the Delhi Capitals team in their upcoming match against Rajasthan Royals. The former Indian wicketkeeper-batter showed dissent on not giving the Andhra Pradesh player opportunities to play just because of his designation in the team.
“I don’t think there will be changes. I was very disappointed when they weren’t playing KS Bharat in the XI. He performed brilliantly for the RCB last year, and also had consistent performances in domestic cricket. You saw Mandeep Singh and Sarfaraz Khan playing ahead of him this season,” Parthiv told Cricbuzz.
“It felt he didn’t get to open just because he is a wicketkeeper. Finally, in the last game, he got a chance. The team looks settled now, just the performance isn’t coming. I don’t think there will be changes,” he added.
Rishabh Pant and his men will aim to win against the Royals on Wednesday (May 11) to keep their IPL 2022 playoffs qualification hope alive.
